Every rose has her petals… she’s just waiting for the right gardener.

Hi, I’m Rosebud
I’m a 2-year-old golden retriever, and I’ve had kind of a confusing start in life.

People say golden retrievers are supposed to be happy-go-lucky all the time—but I’m just not wired that way. I want to be that dog who runs into your arms with tail wags and kisses, but the truth is, new people and fast changes make me nervous. I’ve been shuffled around a bit, (came all the way from Indiana) and I’ve had to figure things out on my own. Sometimes that made me scared, and I didn’t always know how to show it the right way.

But here’s what I can tell you: when I feel safe, when I trust you, my real personality comes out. I’ll bring you my toys, I’ll nuzzle your hand, and I’ll light up when we play fetch in the yard. Being outside makes me feel calm and happy—it’s one of my favorite places to be.

I’ve done well with other dogs and even cats. I’m not looking for chaos or loud excitement—I’m looking for peace, patience, and someone who understands that love sometimes takes a little time. I’m trying my best. I just need someone who will try with me, too.

So, here’s what I’m hoping for:
A quiet home—no kids, please
Someone patient who will go slow and let me open up on my terms
A fenced in yard to roam, sniff, and feel free

I know I’m not the easiest dog to understand at first glance. But if you’re the kind of person who sees beyond that and believes in second chances… I’m right here, waiting.

BOO, I’m Ghost!

I’m a 6 (about to be 7-year-old) golden retriever with a big heart, a soft coat, and a playful spirit that hasn’t faded with age! Don’t let my age fool you—I’ve still got plenty of pep in my step, especially when toys are involved. I love my toys and will happily keep myself entertained… as long as I know you’re nearby.

Oh—and guess what? My birthday is coming up on June 1st!  I’ll be turning 7, and all I really want this year is a forever home to celebrate in.

I came from a home before, so I know a little about being part of a family, and I’m really hoping to find that again soon. I can get a bit anxious when I’m left alone for too long, so I’d do best with someone who’s home more often than not. I just really like being around my people!

I’ve met other dogs before and done just fine, but I don’t need a doggy sibling—I’d be just as happy being your one and only. What I do need is someone who can help me work on my leash manners. I tend to pull because I get excited about everything, and sometimes I forget my size. A fenced yard where I can zoom and sniff and burn off some energy would be a dream come true.

I promise to be your loyal shadow, your snuggle buddy, and your toy-fetching champion. If you’ve got time, patience, and lots of love to give, I think we’d make a perfect team.

Meet Fancy – A Shy Soul Looking for a Second Chance

Fancy is a beautiful, resilient pup with a heart full of hope and a gentle spirit that’s just waiting to shine. Rescued from a backyard breeder, Fancy has known more hardship than any dog should — but she’s ready to start a new chapter with the love and care she’s always deserved.

Fancy has a confirmed torn cruciate and needs surgery and recovery support. She’s looking for a compassionate foster home — or even better, a foster fail — who can help her heal both physically and emotionally. Her road to recovery won’t be instant, but with patience, stability, and love, we believe Fancy will blossom into the joyful dog she was always meant to be.

She is very nervous around new people and situations, and it takes her time to trust. But one thing that brings Fancy comfort and confidence is the company of other dogs. She comes alive when she’s around doggy friends — they help her feel safe, show her the ropes, and even get her tail wagging. For that reason, a home with at least one other friendly, well-socialized dog is a must.

Fancy would also love a securely fenced yard where she can safely stretch her legs and enjoy short romps with her canine companions. Despite her injury, she still finds joy in running and playing — and her zest for life is truly inspiring.

We know Fancy’s perfect match is out there — someone with a big heart and the patience to meet her where she is. If you’re ready to help a sweet, scared soul learn what love truly means, Fancy just might be the dog for you.

Will you be the one to help her believe in people again?

Currently seeking foster or foster-to-adopt placement.
Must have a fenced-in yard and at least one other dog.

Learn all about me!

Hi, I’m Tato. I’m not your average dog—I’m a project, but if you’re the right person, I’m a project worth taking on. I’m looking for someone experienced, patient, and committed to helping me work through some behavioral challenges. I won’t sugarcoat it: I need structure, understanding, and time.

I struggle with something called resource guarding. That means I can get protective over things like food, toys, or even space. Because of this, I need a home with no children, and I need someone who respects boundaries, is comfortable managing complex behaviors, and is willing to work alongside professionals if needed.

I do well around other dogs, but I don’t require one in the home to be happy or successful. What I do need is a secure, fenced-in yard—some space where I can decompress, move freely, and just be a dog without the pressure of the outside world. It doesn’t have to be perfect, just safe.

Let me be clear: I’m a lot of work. I need consistency. I need someone who won’t give up on me when progress feels slow, who will follow behavioral guidance closely, and who understands that dogs like me don’t change overnight. I’m not looking for a quick adoption—I’m looking for the right one. Or maybe even a behavioral foster who can give me structure and stability while I continue to grow.

I have so much potential. I’m smart, observant, and capable of deep loyalty—but I need the right environment to let that part of me shine. If you’re the kind of person who sees beyond the surface, who’s willing to do the hard work, and who believes in second chances, then I’m ready to meet you.

Learn all about me!

Hi there, I’m Zeus — yes, that Zeus. God of Thunder? Not exactly. But Master of Zoomies? You bet.

I’m a Golden mix with a heart as big as my paws and a personality that’s about 90% playful goofball, 10% majestic beast. I’m on the lookout for a forever home where I can be your one and only (trust me, I deserve the spotlight). I can be a little selective with other dogs — especially the small, yappy kind — so I’d do best as your solo sidekick. I’m not into the dog park drama.

Leash walks? Love ‘em. But here’s the thing: I might turn into a drama king when I see other dogs while I’m on leash. I’m working on it though! Just need someone patient who can help me channel my inner calm (and maybe carry snacks).

I can be a little shy when I first meet people — especially men — but give me a minute and a few treats, and I’ll be cuddled up like we’ve been besties forever. Underneath the golden fluff is a big softie who just wants love, belly rubs, and maybe a yard to gallop around like the regal, silly lion I am.

So if you’re looking for a loyal, quirky, handsome boy who’s ready to be your shadow (and your comedic relief), I’m your Zeus. Thunder optional. Love guaranteed.

Hey there, I’m Lad—a 3-year-old Lab mix with a heart as big as my tennis ball collection (and yes, I can fit three in my mouth at once—pretty impressive, right?). I’m a joyful, playful guy who’s always up for a new adventure and a good laugh.

Whether it’s a walk around the neighborhood or a spontaneous splash session in the pool, I’m your go-to buddy. I LOVE the water—swimming might just be my superpower. I’m also excellent on leash and crate trained, so I’m ready for fun and structure, too. And when the day winds down? I’ll happily curl up beside you for some well-earned snuggles. I’m basically a 85-pound lapdog with a tennis ball obsession and a lot of love to give.

I’ve got great manners in the house and a big personality that’ll keep you smiling. I just have one important request: I want to be your one and only. No other dogs, cats, or kiddos for me, please—I like my space and my people all to myself. I do best with adults who understand me, respect my boundaries, and are looking for a loyal companion to share their life (and couch) with.

If you’re looking for a fun-loving, fiercely loyal, water-obsessed goofball to be your solo sidekick, I just might be your guy.

So—got a tennis ball and a spot in your heart for me?

Learn all about me!

Hi there… I’m Gracie. I’m a 7-year-old Goldendoodle, and for most of my life, I didn’t know what it meant to be loved, to be safe, or to just be a dog. I came from a place where I was only seen for what I could produce, not for who I am. When I arrived at Yankee, I was in rough shape—my body was tired, my spirit was timid, and the world felt overwhelming. But thanks to the kind people here, I’m getting the care I’ve always needed, and for the first time, I feel a little spark of hope.

I’m still learning that gentle hands mean kindness, that soft beds are meant for me, and that there’s a whole world beyond the only life I’ve ever known. I’m nervous and shy, but can you blame me? Everything is new—sounds, sights, love. I want to believe in it all, I really do. I just need time.

I dream of a quiet home with patient hearts who will let me come out of my shell at my own pace. A fenced-in yard would help me feel safe as I start to explore this big, new world. And if there’s another dog in my future home? That would be the best. I’ve never really known how to “dog” properly, but I’d love to learn from a gentle, confident friend who can show me that life isn’t so scary after all.

I know I may not be the kind of dog who runs into your arms on day one. But if you give me your heart, I promise I will try my very best to give you mine. I just need someone to believe in me. Could that be you?

“Attention! Stop and give me 20 treats!” Chief here to whip you into shape for all the cuddles, snuggles and pets! Oh, not to mention the gentlest game of tug or an endless round of fetch (my favorite).

I’m an older southern gentleman, a Georgia peach as they say, that had a rough time before making my way to Yankee. My previous home had a little one that just wasn’t my cup of sweet tea so I was surrendered to a shelter and discovered by a friend of YGRR who knew I would have my best chance there! I quickly won the hearts of the staff here with my never-ending prairie dog impersonations. Some of the tricks I’m best at are sit, paw, down, and of course, prairie dog! I also know “get your ball” and “where’s your ducky.”

A little more about me. I love to be brushed, have not met a snack that I don’t like, hate being left alone for long periods of time, and I bond quickly to my people. I’m very protective of my space and my favorite people so I’ll always keep you safe. You’ll never be lonely with me around! As much as I love playing non-stop fetch and earning treats with my cuteness, I don’t mind a nap on the couch if that’s your speed.

I’d do best in a home without children, other pets, or a lot of foot traffic. A quiet life with my people is all I need. I’m tolerant of other doggos outside of my space but I’d much rather be your only companion. So, if you’re ready for a loyal retired companion, I’m the guy for you!

Learn all about me!

Bonjour! We are Gigot (pronounced zhee-go) and Agneau (pronounced ahn-yo)—a bonded pair of Goldendoodles hailing from the South, now ready to find our happily-ever-after up North!

With names like ours—Gigot means “leg of lamb” and Agneau means “lamb”—you might think we’re fancy. But don’t let that fool you! Underneath these chic names are just two sweethearts who want nothing more than a quiet, cozy home to share together.

Recently, we got the glow-up we didn’t even know we needed—a fresh haircut! We were in desperate need of a good grooming, and now we’re feeling so much better (and looking fabulous, if we may say so). It was just what we needed to feel like our best selves again.

We’ve got our own little quirks that make us shine. Gigot is the athlete of the duo—he could chase a tennis ball from sunrise to sunset and would probably win gold if fetch were an Olympic sport. Agneau, meanwhile, is the resident snuggler. She lives for belly rubs and quiet cuddle time. Though she has cataracts, she doesn’t let that slow her down one bit—she’ll happily flop over at your feet and soak up all the love you’re willing to give.

We do best as the only pups in the home—we can get a little too excited around other dogs. A fenced-in yard is a must for us, as we love to romp and explore safely at our own pace.

We’re still getting used to the whole “living in a home” thing, and we do have a bit of stranger danger—we can be nervous or barky around new people. That’s why we’re hoping for a quiet household without a lot of foot traffic or visitors. With a little time and patience, we’ll learn to feel safe and secure.

We’re looking for a family who understands pups like us and can help us build confidence. In return, we promise you all the bisous (kisses), snuggles, and fluffy companionship you can handle.

If you think your home could be our château, we’d love to meet you. Together, we’ll make life magnifique!
