What I need in a Forever Home:

• A quiet, low-traffic home where I can feel safe
• A patient and understanding adopter who will give me time to adjust
• Someone willing to help me build confidence at my own pace
• A fully fenced-in yard (I’m still working on leash skills!)

Hi there, I am Miss Abby. An older girl who has had a tough life. I arrived all the way from Ohio to Yankee to start a new chapter of my life. Despite my rough past, I am learning that life isn’t so bad. I’m getting lots of love while I am staying at Yankee—hanging in the yard with other dogs and soaking up attention from volunteers. I am still working on my leash walking skills, so I do require a fully fenced-in yard.

What’s so great about me is my big smile and my wiggly body. I am starting to come up for pets, even if I’m a little hesitant at first. I love treats—they help me feel brave and eager to move. I also enjoy soft beds and sunshine… it’s the little things.

I can be a bit shy and new things can feel overwhelming, so I will need some time to adjust. I may take a little work at first, but I promise I’m worth it. With someone who is patient, gentle, and understanding, I will learn to trust—and once I do, I will love deeply and wholeheartedly.

At this point in my life, I just need a quiet home where I can come out of my shell at my own pace. No big expectations of me. I have never lived in a home before, so everything will be new to me. Patience is key to helping me feel safe and confident.
