Hi, I’m Kayla! I’m a young girl who was saved from the euthanasia list in Georgia. As a puppy, my siblings and I were picked up as strays, and after being overlooked at a southern shelter, I unfortunately found myself on the euthanasia list. Thankfully, a local rescue stepped in, connected with Yankee, and helped bring me all the way to Massachusetts!

I can be timid with new people and situations, but I have made so much progress. My team in Georgia spent lots of time helping me learn that people are safe and shared:

“Kayla is going to be timid at first. With patience, she will learn to trust you. Once Kayla comes out of her shell she is the best dog a family could ask for.”

On top of being beautiful, I’m also very smart! I know my basic commands along with some fun tricks like high five, spin, and “bang bang.”

Since arriving at Yankee, I’ve enjoyed daily walks, dipping my toes in the pool, and especially playing with my doggie friends. My best friend here is Phoebe, who you may have recently seen posted! We are both sensitive girls learning to be brave, and having Phoebe by my side has helped my confidence tremendously.

Other dogs help me feel safe and bring out my playful side, which is why another confident dog in my forever home is a must.

I’m looking for a quiet, patient family who will let me settle in at my own pace. Give me the time I need to trust, and you’ll get to watch me blossom into the sweet, smart, and playful girl I was always meant to be.
