Buoy, oh, buoy, am I a cutie or what? Hi I am Buoy, a buoy-tiful golden boy that came to Yankee from a southern transport. I arrived nervous and afraid, unable to approach people. With the patience and care of staff, I have slowly come out of my shell. I am very treat-motivated, which has helped in gaining my trust in humans. I did not have toys before my arrival, but since then I have discovered I love toys, balls being a favorite!

I require a fully fenced in yard. If you do not have a fully fenced in yard, we unfortunately won’t be a match. I also need to go to a home with another dog. Staff found that having another dog friend helps my confidence tremendously. I am a playful bouncy boy when I have another dog to be around. Staff loves to see me enjoy myself when I have another four-legged pal. I also need to go to a home with teenagers who will let me approach on my own. I do not know any commands yet, but with lots of tasty cheese treats and a patient family I will surely figure them out. I have been working on my leash skills and have been doing great.

I have found my voice here at Yankee, but I am looking to settle into my forever home. If your current dog is looking for a brother, I’d love to go home with you! My perfect family would be one that has the patience with me as I navigate life in a home. I have never lived in a house, but I know I will be very happy once settled in! My life is only getting started, I can’t wait to see how big this world is and how much fun there is to be had. Anchors aweigh to my forever home!
