What I Need in a Forever Home:

• A quiet, predictable home where I can settle in at my own pace
• An adult-only home with no children
• A yard where I can safely explore, sniff, and enjoy some fresh air
• I am cat savvy and would love to share my home with a feline friend!
• I can be selective about my dog friends, so any potential canine sibling would need to be a good match

Hi friends, Miss Esse here! You may remember me by my adorable heart-shaped nose — it’s still one of my cutest features, if I do say so myself!

I originally made the long trip from Texas to YGRR and was adopted, but I recently found myself back at Yankee. Sometimes things just don’t work out quite as planned, and now everyone here is focused on finding the home that feels just right for me.

But guess what?! I have some exciting news! I’m currently living in a foster home, and I’m doing very well! Having the opportunity to settle into a home environment has been wonderful for me, and I’m showing everyone just how sweet I can be when I’m given the time and space to feel comfortable.

And here’s another fun fact about me… I’m quite the cat connoisseur!  That’s right, I’m a very cat-savvy girl! If you have a feline friend at home who could use a canine companion, I just might be your girl! Who says cats and dogs can’t be besties?!

I can be a shy and cautious girl when I first meet someone, and I need a little time to decide that you’re safe and trustworthy. The best thing you can do for me is not rush me! Give me some space, let me approach you when I’m ready, and you’ll start to see what a sweet girl I really am.

Once I’m comfortable, I love affection and spending time with the people I trust. My foster experience has been a wonderful opportunity for me to continue building confidence, and I’m proving that a little patience can go a long way!

When it comes to other dogs, I can be selective about my friends. I may be able to live with the right dog after a thoughtful introduction, but I’d also be perfectly happy being your one and only canine companion. And of course, I wouldn’t mind sharing the spotlight with a kitty sibling!

At 5 years old, I’m ready for a fresh start with people who will let me settle in on my own timeline. I don’t need a busy household or a packed social calendar — I’m looking for patience, kindness, and people who will appreciate the sweet girl underneath my initially shy exterior.
