Happily Adopted!
Lily, YGRR #4554

Four-month-old Lily found herself in need of a new home when her owner realized she made a mistake after purchasing Lily as a puppy for her little girl. As Lily grew, she had lots of energy that needed a variety of constructive outlets. Her family was overwhelmed with the amount of time and attention that Lily needed and knew their little Golden deserved a home where people would have the time to spend with her.

Lily was quickly admitted to the program, seen by the YGRR veterinarian and given her tattoo! When she arrived at Riverview, the staff found her to be a happy, smart, energetic Golden puppy. Lily was overjoyed to spend time in the pool and swimming was a great way for Lily to work off some of her energy! Repeat adopters were called who had the time and expertise to ensure Lily would get the structure, training and affection that she needed. Lily was delighted to meet her new family! She now resides happily in her new home where she is known as "Lily the Love." Lily is a busy girl and her family is committed to giving this lucky little girl a wonderful future.

Happily Adopted!
Sophie, YGRR #4525

Adorable Sophie found herself in need of a new home when her owner felt overwhelmed caring for a new baby and a dog in the home. Her work schedule did not allow her to spend the time with Sophie that she felt she deserved. So, three-year-old Sophie was admitted to YGRR and taken to the YGRR veterinarian.

Sophie was treated for ear infections but was otherwise in good health. An adopter who lived on the seashore and had lots of time to spend with a Golden was called to meet Sophie. He immediately recognized what a sensitive dog Sophie was and how she formed almost an immediate attachment to him. Sophie had found her forever home with someone who had all the time in the world to spend with her. Her adopter has already called to say they go everywhere together and he couldn't be happier with his sweet Golden girl!

Happily Adopted!
Bode (AKA Flyer), YGRR #4441

Five-week-old Flyer came to YGRR as a result of a neonatal injury he had suffered at birth. His front right leg had been severely injured and was surgically removed by the YGRR veterinarian. Flyer spent a number of months in rehabilitation at Riverview. Now, he has grown up into a handsome Golden boy and is thriving in his new adoptive home!

Flyer is now known as "Bode" (left) and lives with a nine-year-old Golden girl named Orca (right) and Lewis the cat. Bode's new Mom and Dad are repeat adopters with YGRR and have previously owned two three-legged dogs! Orca has lost some much needed weight since Bode came home because of all their playing. Bode also likes to play with Lewis who sits in a high chair and bats Bode like a boxer. His adopters say that the Bode-man is just a cure-all for the blues!

Bode is now working on earning his therapy dog certification. He and his Golden sister are hoping to visit with patients at a local Shriner's hospital. Only very gentle and well-trained dogs can participate in this program and we have no doubt that both Bode and Orca will be putting smiles on patients' faces very soon!

Happily Adopted!
Bailey, YGRR #4519

One-year-old Bailey loves to strike a pose for a photo in the backyard of his new adoptive home! Bailey was purchased at a pet store on impulse by a family who did not understand the commitment in time, training and money a new puppy required. Bailey ended up spending most of his time either tied in the back yard or in the garage. He was not neutered or up to date on his vaccinations. Realizing that the dog needed more than they could provide, the family called YGRR.

Bailey was brought to the YGRR veterinarian where he was neutered, given a dentistry and brought up to date on his shots. He tested positive for Lymes disease so he was put on the appropriate antibiotic. Bailey was also found to have mild hip dysplasia, which will need to be monitored as he gets older. Repeat adopters were waiting in the wings for a nice companion for Abby, their four-year-old Golden girl. All went smoothly at Bailey's adoption appointment and the family has already called to say he is settling in just fine. Bailey has already been to the groomer and gets lots of exercise each day. This Golden boy can now live in a home and be a part of a loving family. No more garage time for Bailey!

Happily Adopted!
Yellow (Brady), YGRR #4462

Yellow's life has changed dramatically for the better ever since his owner took him to a local humane society. Two-year-old Yellow spent his days tied outside in all kinds of weather and his nights in a crate. Yellow had not been neutered nor was he up to date on his shots. His owner had no time for a dog nor could he afford veterinary care. When Yellow was taken to the shelter he was stressed and anxious. A behaviorist at the shelter knew Yellow needed just the right home with adopters who would be patient and give him the structure, training and attention he needed and called YGRR.

Yellow was brought to the YGRR veterinarian where he was neutered and brought up to date on his vaccinations. He then came to Riverview and responded well to a few months of basic training! Repeat adopters were called who had a beautifully fenced in yard and had always enjoyed taking daily walks by to the ocean with their Golden companion. The rest is history and Yellow probably has to pinch himself everyday to make sure he is not dreaming! His adopters have called to say that Yellow is settling in beautifully and to let us know that they have changed his name to Brady. Yellow wasn't yellow (!) so a thoughtful name given by his new loving family is just what this Golden boy deserves!
